History of fountain pens

Fountain consists of a reservoir of ink water-based fluid. If the fountain pen uses an ink cartridge instead of built-in compartment ink cartridge then it is called

There were three major inventions that have led to greater dissemination and production of fountain pens are iridium-tipped gold nib, ink free-flowing and hard rubber. The first fountain pen that was made with all three key inventions was the year 1850. The front steps were used iridium-tipped gold nib dip. The fountain pen nibs use today that are made of stainless steel or gold. Most commonly used is contained in 18-carat gold and 14 carats.

Pens from the 20th century have a nib more flexible. The best brands of pens are Caran d'Ache, Pelikan, Waterman, Faber-Castell, Montblanc, Monteverde, Michel Perchin, DuPont, Montegrappa, Stipula, Sigma Delta and Rotring. Some manufacturers of the fountain pen cartridges only as they urbanized Parker, Lamy, Cross, Sheaffer, and Namiki. Fountain pen cartridges have a plastic ball that takes place inside the ink exit hole by a thin layer of rubber or plastic .
